My other horse is a ....snail.
You know those bumper stickers you see on cars that say, "My other car is a porsche," or, "My other car is a motorcycle"?
Maybe Moon needs a bumper sticker advertising "My other" snail-horse! (For those of you who don't know, next to horses, snails are my favorite animal.)

Horse birthday.
Lat week I turned 15. I had a great birthday and got several horse and non horse-type of gifts. On the horse side, I had a horse cake, got some new, heavy duty horse clippers, a winged horse charm for my bracelet and a horse nintendo ds game. What could be better?

Horse Scholarships

I still have a couple of years to get ready for college, but it's on my mind a lot lately.
We had a counselor talk to us about applying for scholarships, and she mentioned that it's not too early for all of us to start applying. So, I thought I'd ask all of you for some information.
Do any of you know about eventing scholarships, or riding scholarships in general? Moon needs a scholarship too, because I'm not going to college without him!
On another note, the new barn is so great! We've both adjusted to all the new stuff and have a nice routine going. Moon is turned out for several hours a day, and seems really happy. This last weekend a barn just a couple of minutes away from my new barn was having a wild horse and burro auction. We went over, which was almost a mistake, because we wanted to take them all home. Everyone one of them was adorable. There was quite a crowd there, so hopefully they all found good homes.
Blog award!
Wow, Lynda Polk actually nominated me for this blogging award. When I first started blogging I was surprised that anyone visited my site. Now, I've come to know many of you and your horses! Thanks for reading this blog and happy riding!
I'm supposed to pass this award to other people with great blogs.
There are so many good horse blogs out there, but I'd like to nominate: Equine mine. I love reading her blog. Horse horse, Maddy and I share the same name!
Mustang diaries, I love reading about her mustangs and all the cool stuff she does with them.
Learning horses, who has great training advice.
Halt near x, who has great horse stories.
I've been tagged....(twice!)
Mustangdiaries.blogspot.com has tagged me. The subject is "7 things I'd like to accomplish in 2008." I was also tagged by Alittlemoresunshine.blogspot.com
I'll do that post tomorrow!
So, here goes: (in no particular order of importance....)
1. I'd like to move up to prelim.
2. Beat my dressage score of 33.2
3. I'd like to go to show where I have a clean stadium and x-county round.
4. Get faster at braiding Moon's mane.
5. Get my driver's permit.
6. Master getting on Moon in my dressage full seat breeches.
7. Continue to pamper Moon.
Sundance line.
I have to do one more Sundance post.
When the Sundance film fest comes to town they show some of the movies at the high school. The high school is under construction, so right now I have all my other classes at the school about a block away, but my dance class is in the high school building. There are always long lines of people outside the school during the film fest. The other day, the PIBS, (people in black,) as the they are called, because they mostly dress in all black were all in line for a movie at my school.
I had dance class that day and had to walk through the line to get to my class. A lady grabbed my arm and demanded to know where I was going, (she thought I was trying to cut in line in front of her,) and I simply said, "I'm a kid. I'm trying to get to dance class!" Where else would I be going at 10am on a school day?
Live from the Sundance Film Fest.
It's that time of year again. Our little town has doubled in population with people and film makers from all over the world. It's crazy around here, but lots of fun too. Here are a few pics from around town.
This guy, with the falcon was walking around Main Street. We've seen him around town with a falcon before. We stopped to talk to him and found out that he has about 150 birds, and does all the bird wrangling for Hollywood, including the birds in the Harry Potter movies.

We saw this "Looking for funding" t-shirt in a store window....I think I should wear something similar with a little horse on it....doesn't every rider wish for extra funding?

This horse painting was in a gallery on Main Street. It's a horse painted on a flag. Pretty cool.

Pony Sculptures
We found these and had to show them to all of you. The artist is named Kevin Box, and he makes these really cool horse sculptures. He makes them in mini, 12 inch and much bigger. Aren't they amazing?

Happy Holidays
Here's our end of the year family video. Happy holidays and thanks to all of you who read my blog!
Big shoes to fill.
I found this image on allposters.com. I think it's adorable. Little horses are so irresistible. We have one pony at the barn that is really small. Steve has to lift him over logs when we go to desert camp. Can you imagine? He just picks him right up and carries him over!
The perfect gift?
All of us animal lovers are so blessed to have animals in our lives. I love Moon so much. I love all the animals we have. I would love a cute little sheep. In some parts of the world a sheep is more than just a cute friend. If you buy a sheep, for $45, a woman can make a living using it's wool to make fabric. You can also give a dozen chicks, a goat, etc. You can also buy seeds that will be used to plant trees and medical kits.
I think this is a great idea as long as the animals are well cared for.
Gallery photos.
I saw this really cool idea on onecowgirl.blogspot.com. You just upload a photo and wow, you're in a gallery. Got to www.dumpr.net/museumr.php to check it out.
