Lost Cat

My Gramsie loves cats. She has had many and, currently has two. One named Lucy and one named LC. She recently rescued LC from a grocery store in Heber. Gramsie was buying groceries and when she came out she was shocked that she had a tiny kitten sitting on her tire.

This grocery store is sadly a common place for people to abandon little kittens who they don't have room for. LC must have known that this was the car of a cat fanatic. After loading her groceries, Gramsie picked up the kitten and checked to see if it was a boy or a girl. It turned out to be a girl. She couldn't resist the helpless face and took the little lady home.

Lucy seemed to approve. My gramps told me that LC was on a "Two day trial." Knowing my Gramsie I knew it was more like an "Eternity trial!" She was the most cuddley kitten and very playful to.

Surley enough, Gramsie kept her. To make it fair for Gramps he got to pick the name. He decided to name her LC short for lost cat. I think Gramps likes LC I often see them cuddling on the couch when he thinks nobody is watching.

Nice story! I remember once when I was about 8 my friend and I were at our family camp in Maine riding bikes alone the dirt lanes, dreaming that we'd see a band of wild horses aound every corner and we might catch one and lure it home, when we saw a pretty husky dog. we thought he would do in a pinch, and felt very satisfied that we were saving the poor thing from the dangerous wilderness. It took a long time and a great deal of work to get it to follow us home though. Come to find out we had lured him from his own property. OOPS.

Heidi thinks we should re-name the kitty Elsie, and I second the idea. My kids are excited to see the kitty the next time we visit.

I kinda like the LC for lost cat. I'm a huge cat lover too, I swear we have a blinking neon sign in the woods behind our farm that says "strays welcome here!" but it's ok, we love them.
Cute story. I like Elsie - great play on words for LC. Most farms are always looking for a couple barn cats (or to give away a few). Got to have some to keep vermin out of your barn.
