So you think you can ride?

Some of you may have seen the dance show called, "So you think you can dance." It's a reality show that allows people from all over the country to audition as dancers. Some of them are really good dancers and some are not. After the top dancers are selected, they learn and then perform different styles each week. Each week two of the weaker dancers are sent home.

It got us to thinking about a new reality show, which would be called "So you think you can ride?"

Here's how it would work. Equestrians from around the country would audition to be selected as one of the top 20 riders.

After the initial 20 were chosen, each rider would then perform/ride in a different discipline each week. For example, week one a rider may have to ride a saddle bronc. Week two would possibly be a dressage test. Week three might be jumping. Week four, reigning. And so on and so on.

Judges would determine who went home each week, until eventually one rider would win the competition.

So, what do you all think? Anyone want to audition?

I would totally addition! Although I wouldn't get very far... probably not even into the top 20. The only western riding ive ever done is cutting and that was only for like 30 mins

I ride English, primarily hunters/jumpers, and think of myself as an okay rider. There was one time I asked my QH, who was a roping champion and stock horse, to turn left using the western aids instead of the nice gentle turns I had previously asked for.

I nearly went off his right shoulder, he turned so abruptly. So no, I don't think I would get very far.

But it would be fun to watch other people do it. I don't think it gets much better than watching a good cutting horse.

I think it sounds like fun but I'm way too old to take up bronc riding, so think I'll skip the tryouts!
