New horse blankets.

Santa--aka Elle--didn't forget the horses this Christmas. Each of them got a new blanket.

They all seem happy to wear their new blankets except Pharaoh. He wants nothing to do with his. Here's a little video of Pharaoh not wearing his blanket. Maybe he doesn't like the color. He keeps walking over to Keiki and smelling her blanket--as though it just doesn't smell quite right. It seems he prefers a blanket made of snow.

It's been cold here, and they all look so cozy in their new clean blankets. You can see Keiki in the background in this video, eating grain. She's not wearing her blanket here, but she was more than happy to wear it later. Keiki's blanket gold and she looks so pretty in it. If only blankets could stay clean! They look so nice when they're brand new--just pulled out of the box.

Last spring when we were in Hawaii we went for a ride. We had such a great ride, it was fun to ride in those surroundings, so different than home--not a single moose in sight! The owner said she blankets her horses if it drops into the 50's and 60's. She said her horses start to shiver at those temps.

I wonder how those horses would like living here, with two feet of snow on the ground!
